How It All Started

From just a little girl baking in the kitchen with her sister, watching all the MKR seasons, and dreaming of one day owning her own business or bakery... the dream that little girl dreamed unexpectedly came true...

I always loved being in the kitchen. Many of my early childhood memories were spent in the there... watching mum or grandma cook and many of those times being allowed to get in there and help them prepare dinner. As the years passed and when my sister and I were according to my dad "old and responsible enough to use an oven properly" without "burning the house down" we started baking away. I remember almost every Saturday Jasmin and I would whip up a little treat for the family and anxiously wait for the final "taste test" from my parents. It was during those early childhood year that I discovered I really liked to bake... anything really! From chocolate cakes to cupcakes and thus my passion was born.

How it all really happened...

This is where is all started, in the small kitchen of the Gherghel residence. My Sweet 16th and my sister's 15th birthday was coming up and we decided to celebrate together. Jasmin and I wanted to have a really nice cake for the high tea we organised. We wanted something elegant, delicious something to "wow" my close friends who were attending the party. I dreamt of how our dream cake would look but was hesitant on getting mum to then also put in money for a cake that I could possibly make on my own. After all I liked to bake right? So I sat myself down, watched a couple of cake stacking videos to see if I really was that capable and decide to just do it. I told mum my idea and she was trilled, I researched a little more on what other materials I would need that I didn't have at the time (cake board, off set spatula, turn table etc.) and went shopping. I gathered my ingredients and materials and embarked on what I didn't even know was the start of something incredible... Elizabeth's Sweets Boutique.
